I try to follow this annually, but missed it for a few weeks this year:
"We moved a wide variety of people here this year - from singles to families to retirees and all from various backgrounds, which makes a lot of sense. Texas is just so diverse and welcoming to different cultural and ethnic groups," said Ben Hurwitz, president of Westheimer Transfer & Storage, Houston, Texas, and one of the longest-standing domestic and international agents of Allied Van Lines, a leading moving company worldwide. "We also did a lot of corporate relocations this year for some very large companies based in Texas. And that's not surprising since we're such a business friendly state, too."
I have posted a number of articles (www.AustinMarketInfo.com) and written (www.BillMorrisRealtor.com) quite a bit recently about companies planning to move to or expand their Austin/Central Texas area operations, but other parts of Texas are also doing quite well. The state's net relocation gain in 2009 was about 2,000, a little higher than the previous year. Arizona's net gain was the second highest in the country, at 566.
There are a lot of reasons people are coming to Texas. Check it out!
