The attack on Pearl Harbor was 69 years ago today. So long ago, and not many of those veterans are still with us, but it is important for us to remember. This isn't just about World War II ....
The young men and women who were the right age to join the war effort had already been through the Great Depression. They were toughened long before the U.S. entered the war.
Then they signed up in droves to help defend freedom around the world. Their victory changed the course of their future ... and our past.
But they didn't stop there. They came back and continued to reshape the course of the United States, creating the most prosperous and opportunity-filled country in history. More wars, boom and bust, economic upheavals, political changes, massive shifts in international relations .... They kept going, knowing how important that is ... to keep going.
We all enjoy the legacy of The Greatest Generation. Today is a great time to say, "Thank you!"
